FASHION: Stripes and Dungarees

With the cold weather approaching, it's easy to reach for a cosy over sized jumper and some jeans. But I have been loving wearing dungarees lately. The dungaree dress below is actually from Hong Kong but you can buy various styles from Topshop and I have also seen some in Primark. I like the combination of wearing them over a striped top like the photo below from H&M. The quality of the material is really good and the slight turtle neck keeps you warm. To finish off this outfit, I would pair together some tights and you can really be versatile with the footwear - dressing it up with heeled boots or down with plimsolls depending on the occasion and weather.

Dungarees are an easy option to making outfits look good and you can change this up by wearing different tops underneath such as jumpers and shirts.
For more ideas of what outfits you can put together with dungarees visit Olive Clothing's Instagram page.

TRAVEL: Where did I go?

It's been a long time since my last blog post but I thought I would get things rolling again by sharing with you where I have traveled in the last few months. This year, I have been lucky enough to explore  a few more destinations than normal with family and friends - short city breaks and a two week holiday was a good balance especially when you have a few busy months at work.
Some favourite moments and unforgettable memories.
I also have a trip planned to Berlin just before Christmas which will definitely get me into the spirit!

Here are some photos that were taken:

1. Madrid, Spain

2. Amsterdam, Holland

3. Osaka,Japan

EAT: IPPUDO London

Rewind back to 2014, in the summer I visited 'IPPUDO' one of the recommendations from the boy. Japanese and ramen...of course I'd be up for going and after reading the reviews and high ratings - I couldn't be disappointed. Away from central London (Saint Giles High Street) - this is not the most obvious place I would come to but tucked away are glass buildings with a few other restaurants.

As we arrived, we could see a queue going around the corner but this didn't make us walk away. At the entrance we were told there would be an est. time of 1 hour to wait and they took your name and number and we would be notified once our table was ready. Bigger groups had to wait longer so it was good that there was only 2 of us. We decided to wonder down the streets looking at window displays of instrumental stores. Time passed quickly and before we knew it, our table was ready. After some confusion with the pronunciation of the boys surname - we were greeted by the staff with chants and seated to our table.

We shared a long table with some other groups of people but sat side by side so it was easier to talk and look at menus together. Cocktail menus presented in front of us alongside the ramen menu - choices made and soon after the food was brought out to us.

I would highly recommend this place. Chilled atmosphere and friendly staff. With so many other ramen restaurants in London. I am sure to write another review this year.

Take a look at what we got below:

Cocktails:  Shogalicious & Midori Michiko
Starters: Gyoza & Hirata Bun (pork)
Main: Shiromaru Hakata Classic (extra pork) & “Karaka” Spicy Men (extra spice ball)

Happy New Year 2015!

Hello 2015, what a year it's been! I've had a wonderful build up to the end of the year - Christmas was a time to get together with family and friends, enjoying dinner and spending quite a bit of time in London. Also, I finally made a trip to Winter Wonderland. Not sure why it had taken so long for me to go there, but it was definitely worth the wait!

New years was a quiet one for me, staying indoors and counting down to 2015 on the TV. Followed by watching 'Into the Storm' which was quite a good film - I have a few films which I still need to watch and with some new releases in mind I'll be tucked in bed watching films until we start seeing some sun! (Note to self, I need to get back into reading).

I'm looking forward to what 2015 brings and with such a good start to the year, This year will hopefully be full of adventures, places to explore and smiles!

I hope you have had a fabulous start to the year too!

MY FIRST PAY CHEQUE!

I really didn’t know what to buy for my first pay cheque. Bag, Watch, Clothes or just blow the whole lot! I didn’t quite do that but went for a Marc Jacobs watch. Having seen Michael Kors pretty much everywhere even in the windows of the stores I decided to treat myself to something different! I know how easy it is to fall under trends and with the rose gold version of my watch I was very tempted. But in the end I went for a silver one, classic and small which is perfect for an everyday go to piece.

What did you spend on your first pay cheque?
